Guys,
Few things:
1. On the airline security front – I recently completed a trip to Austin, and I found absolutely no changes going through a security checkpoint. Lines are bigger, but they are not doing anything different.
The solution to this problem is to follow the ticket trail for every passenger from the moment a ticket is purchased to the minute that passenger boards the plane. This is El Al’s trick, and it works. Is it costly, yes; but, to me, it is the price we pay for living in a society where lives are threatened by terrorists.
2 – On port – I am thirsty now! This is a good backgrounder on port. One thing is that brandy added to the fermenting juice is pressurized in order to instanly kill the yeast. Port houses have a particular Brix number in mind (sugar content), and they need to kill yeast quickly.
